Role Summary/Purpose:
As a Cloud Operations Engineer you will be responsible for working with a team of highly talented and motivated cloud system and application administrators. You will be responsible for implementing latest monitoring technologies and ensuring the uptime Service Level Agreements (SLA) are achieved.

Essential Responsibilities:
As Cloud Operations Engineer, you will:
Design, deploy and support monitoring solutions 24x7 for production and test environments
Develop, Capture and Report fleet health metrics
Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and assist in resolving them in collaboration with product engineering and production support
Assist information security teams via monitoring solutions to ensure the production infrastructure remains secure
Work with Customer Service teams to resolve customer escalations.
Be available to respond to service availability issues and resolve them 24x7.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with MCA or equivalent qualification
At least 2 years of experience in cloud operations support and configuring and defining monitoring framework and monitoring the infrastructure and services.

Eligibility Requirements:
Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen as per GE policies
Must be willing to travel as needed (roughly 10% of the time)
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Bangalore
Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise: Essential:
Experience working directly with Cloud providers/infrastructure (AWS, Azure etc.), database technologies, Linux operating system
Supporting applications deployed on Cloud based Infrastructure like Private cloud (OpenStack, Bare Metal systems or VM based environments) or Public Cloud (Rackspace or AWS EC2 Instances or Google Cloud) or across Hybrid Cloud Environments
Experience developing solutions using orchestration tools (Chef/Puppet/Ansible/CFEngine etc)
Managing and administering any monitoring tool like New Relic, HP Openview, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Nagios, OpsView or equivalent
Working knowledge of at least one of the following programming or scripting languages
- shell/perl/python or Java
Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting web based applications built on Apache, Tomcat, J2EE
Technical Expertise: Strongly Desired:
Supporting mission-critical systems and applications
Training on ITIL is highly desirable

Role Summary/Purpose:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be developing, sustaining and improving the DevOps processes and tools for cloud based product development for Digital Industrial Platform.
Essential Responsibilities:
Essential Responsibilities:As a DevOps Engineer, you will:
Assist in driving increased maturity on the cloud DevOps capabilities including advanced CI/CD, metrics and strategy.
Help in automating release and deployment processes across environments right upto production. This would include: Building Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment capability using standard DevOps toolset
Help in creating reusable artifacts by organising code into libraries with versions and consumed from repositories during the build process.
Develop automated unit and functional testing using test suites
Automate release notes generation by integrating with bug tracking system
Assist in developing, enforcing and maintaining processes for build promotion and demotion between development, test and production environments
Assist in maintaining and managing the environments. Maintain separation between dev, QA, UAT, stage , production environments.
Support Cloud Operations Team in monitoring and maintaining the production infrastructure

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise: Essential :-
Experience Deploying code on Cloud based Infrastructure like Private cloud (OpenStack, Bare Metal systems or VM based environments) or Public Cloud (Rackspace or AWS EC2 Instances or Google Cloud) or across Hybrid Cloud Environments.
Hands-on experience working with standard DevOps tools:
Build automation tools : Jenkins (including plugins)(preferred), Teamcity, AnthillPro, Ubuild/Udeploy or Bamboo.
Build tools: Maven, Gradle, Ant or equivalent
Bug tracking tools: JIRA, Version One, Pivotal Tracker or equivalent
Source control tools: GIT, GitHub, SVN or Perforce
Artifact storage tool: Artifactory, Nexus or equivalent
Hands-on strong experience developing automation:bash, perl, python(any one)
Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SALT, Jenkins, or CFEngine, etc. on Linux/*nix -( any one)
Comfortable working in a Unix/Linux environment.

Technical Expertise: Nice to have:-
Experience with Embedded Ruby, Groovy or similar tools to develop and automate custom modules
Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed computing, horizontal scaling, and database technologies.
Experience with Databases like MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, RDS, Redshift etc.
Experience working with and optimizing applications for large scale enterprise performance
Experience using containers like Docker based CI/CD approach.
